What a great idea. It's about time someone got it straight about what goes on down there. I worked there 20 years ago lifting patients for tests etc. Well my back went out several times and it got to the point where I couldn't lift the patients on the tables anymore. My boss told me that if I couldn't do the work then I should find another job somewhere else. When I went to personnel to see if I could get on in another department where I didn't have to lift so much they said they didn't have anything for me. At the same time a buddy of mine got hired off the street and told me they were looking for guys on maintaince. When I went back to ask they said I wasn't qualified even though I started out in maintaince when I first worked there!

So I went to school and got a job at IBM. Didn't find out till years later that Mayo had screwed me out of my job and the least they should have done is Workman's Comp. to let me work in another job or train me for a new one. My buddy worked at the clinic and the same thing happened to him. Only he got a lawyer and got paid training and rehab to boot. His lawyer says the Clinic ignores the law all the time because they are self insured and won't give any workman's comp unless you get a lawyer.

If you get hurt on the job or if the job makes an injury or illness worse, they owe you workman's comp period. You get paid for rehab time and different work if you can't do your job. If it's permanent disability you get more money for that too. But you can't take Mayo's word for anything. Get a lawyer right away.

Signed: Screwed by Mother Mayo.
