Dm&e Vs Mayo

How selfish can MAYO get. I mean jeez, they want to sacrifice the safety of the general motoring public by continuing to delay the repair and upgrade of the DM&E tracks.

Perhaps they are just jealous because they do not control or own DM&E I mean they own everything else in Rochester even the airport!

DM&E Opponent

You obviously do not live near DM&E's line or you would be applauding Mayo for what they are trying to accomplish. Rochester is growing too fast as it is with all it's negative aspects ie. crime, urban sprawl etc.
Now fast forward and picture Chicago, New York, Pittsburg, Detroit. All cities I wouldn't go to if you paid me. I even hate to go to the "Twin Cities" Granted that's not going to happen but you get the picture. The more this city grows the faster it will head in that direction. We don't need Kevin's chicken shit RR running more trains through here, especially carrying coal. The thing that really pisses me off is that RPU continues to burn it and plans to spend millions to clean up the air that we were all led to believe was squeaky clean.

It is significantly more economical to transport frieght and goods via the railroad. Additionally since most of our electrical energy comes from burning coal . . . .How much do you think you would like to pay for electricity if Semi Trucks that burn diesel have to haul the coal across the country.

Coal

Trucks will not be hauling coal and even if they were they wouldn't be shaking the foundation of my home. Nuclear energy is the best we can hope for in the next hundred years. Yes a lot of people are afraid when they hear the N word but this isn't Chernobyl or TMI technology. These are probably the same ones whining about global warming. The same ones that don't want drilling in ANWR or in the gulf but complain about our presence in the Middle East. "If they irradiate our meat we'll get cancer."
Ever wonder why TV commercials are aimed at people with an I.Q. of 90 or less? Now THAT scares me!

Anyone heard of The Candadian Pacific

This is a real player, with deep pockets and connections. They can repair the line, build the line to the coal fields and you will see coal flowing to the river by 2009. The thing that stopped the DME was lack of funds, lack of connections. Make no mistake it may have been The Mayo Clinic that battled the DME but it was the backing of The Union Pacific and Burlington Northern Santa Fe that killed the project. These are the two largest railroads in the United States and they didn't want some small regional line cutting into their profits. It will be a different story with the Canadian Pacific. They are a huge player, with resources both monitary, and political.

My response:
I would recomend you contact annonomsly and report them to U.S. Treasury Department/Census and U.S. Securities and Exchange, Plus...U.S. Homeland Security. First two mentioned would be for a Sarbanes Oxley Audit( IF public) or Office of Management and Budget if private, even if nothing turns up...they will squirm. Third point, ever wonder of the foreigners who come over for treatment and the millions $$$ of foreign donating to the clinic and specially treatment they get??? ( King Hussan - Jordan) we have laws against certain Imports/Exports and $ exchanges for services that can be used indirectly to support terriorism????

CNN News article: "Although the details of this gift are still somewhat of a mystery to the Mayo Clinic, the shared good will that this Bible and box represents among the Mayo Clinic, the royal family, and the country of Jordan remains".
I wonder if the box was made in the U.S.A and reexported and reimported or given to the hospital and what the value is? What taxes were paid on this gift?
The Mayo Clinic plans to name a new cardiovascular treatment center after the president of the United Arab Emirates, who since 1996 has given $25 million to the institution -- a gift that has not been disclosed previously.
